phew!
hey pple...havent blogged in a realli realli long time...got quite sian of it...but i suddenly got inspired again after blog surfing...anywayz...dont rd my other entries i coz i jus realised how lame dey r...so...now quite into e new yr already...sec 3...new class...new friends...new teachers...wait...1st must tel bout THE OBS EXPERIENCE!!!
Day 1...
-took a boat 2 pulau ubin
-carried wad i tot at first was my heavy backpack (dat was until i tried carrying e OBS camping bag...lol) 2 mph at camp 2 (original OBS campsite)
-waited 4 other pple 4 abt an hr
-intros n assigned watch instructors...(btw i was in COOK...yeah!)
-instructor was Louis...nice guy...(we think he n daphne, marco polo instructor, r lyk...erm...together? haha)
-did all e admin stuff...food rations...stores...assign roles...(i was 1st dae i/c) had lunch...
-did sherpa's walk (buddy up n lead blindfolded partner around...under stuff...over drains etc...)
-changed into climbing attire - pe tshirt, long pants, helmet, seat harness n met louis at baleying poley thingies...
-tried baleying n climbing n learnt baley calls.........

belayer: no u r not...(takes rope in) *yawn*
belayer: pull check, squeeze check, instructor check (no i am NOT being sick...its true!)

-by e time we were done it was time 2 go pitch tents...b4 it got dark...
-took 4 tent bags (+ tents of course) 2 'Sunrise Valley' n learnt 2 pitch tents
-took cooking stuff frm store (pots, mess tins, food stuff, solid fuel, lighter, toothpaste...serious)
-smeared toothpaste on bottom of pots n mess tins so wont b too sooty...
-louis helped us cook a little...cooked curry chicken rice/porridge...quite nice actually...jus dat bottom was burnt so had 2 scrap off e burnt rice n soot after dat...
-cleaned n scrubed pots n stuff...
-met at mph 4 medical briefing by Belinda...vry farny...haha
-washed up n had some mental excercise thing with louis opp blok 7 (instructors blok) n briefed on how 2 pack camping bag effectively
(dis is too longwinded...im gonna try 2 cut down...im sounding too dull too did u notice?...mayb jus tired...it is 11.30pm after all)
Day 2...
-managed 2 wake up at 6 coz ser zheng's tent was all up n chatting already...n coz im a vry lite slper during camps...
-was drizzling a bit so tried 2 wake up euge bala n kevin...to no avail...so i grabbed torchlite n zhao 2 store 1st...
-packed stuff 4 hiking trip...by den started 2 pour...den lyk e 3 slpers were stil in e tent...
-got a little worried bout 3 of dem coz it was 7.15 o'clock n we were supposed 2 meet louis at 8...so asked hao yang (day 2 i/c) 2 go call dem...
-had breakfast (bread DIPPED in jam) n waited 4 rest 2 finish...
-e 3 guys FINALLY appeared walking under our tent groundsheet at 7.30...........i was lyk!?!?!?!?
-so...met louis 4 hiking briefing...sort of...den filled up 2 bottles of 2 litre bottles each n finished packing all necessary stuff...
-rain finally stopped n we packed tents n started off on hike...
-euge n rahul navigated (euge: coz im a scout n scouts r better at navigation n evrythng else)...
-apart frm several spiders which freaked euge out...we managed 2 reach camp 1 on time although we were quite tired frm e hike n heavy load...(not used 2 it yet lah...)
-started 1st activity...raft escape...evry1 had 2 move frm e beginning 2 e end of a short dist by only stepping on bricks n planks (dont ask how) but didnt manage 2 complete...got halfway 1 time tho.......lack of communication? leadership initiative?......
-btw our buddy watch was marcol polo so we basically did evrythng with dem...
-had lunch of biscuits (again...*sigh*) n milo powder (ecstasy...haha) den prepared 4 kayaking...changed into wet attire - pe tshirt, shorts, wet shoes, SUN BLOCK!!!
-had briefing on how 2 kayak n stuff...den finally dragged our kayaks 2 e 'set-off' point...n after some more warnings n practising capsizing...we paddled out 2 some boat where we 'rafted-up'
-den we kayaked 2 another spot...following daphne...den did e capsizing excersize again n tried 2 un-capsize e kayak by doing e t-shape thingy...overall was vry fun...oh n we got 2 chase daphne n louis at sea coz louis said if we managed 2 'catch' any1 of them they wld do wadeva we wanted...(as long as it was moral)...we DID manage 2 corner daphne but after catching her she purposely(?) capsized so e game was over...but we also managed 2 catch louis :P
-after rinsing n putting back e kayaks we went 4 e once in a lifetime 'jetty jump' experience! sounds scary rite? well...it was abt 3m high...speaks 4 itself doesnt it...but there WERE catfish n jellyfish swimming around n 1 or 2 pple were chased after by them but nothing happened...
-den we went 2 bathe n pitch tents again coz it was getting dark...we pitched outside OBS land rite at e edge/corner of e place...so it could get rather scary at nite + there were no lites AT ALL...also had 2 use large rocks 2 support e tents coz e grnd was too hard 2 bash tent pegs into...so our tent was sagging a little but gd thing it didnt rain so we managed 2 stay dry...
-after pitching we went 4 dinner at e cook house...food was FABULOUS!!! (relatively...)...quite farny too lah...coz supper later was lyk...half an hr after dinner...lol
-after supper at 9 somethng, we went 2 'orchard road' 4 another mental game...each person was given a clue n we were supposed 2 solve 2 questions...not bad lah...managed 2 get 1 answer correct...other answer was close but not quite...den went back 2 tents 2 get rdy 4 slp...was drizzling a little 4 a while...den stopped...thank God...turned in after e usual blabbering of bala...
ok its already 12:07am 16/1/05 so i better go slp...hv 2 wake up early 4 church...day 3-5 cont tml...cya den!
